Hi, I have been doing some experiences and it is just strange. Here is the configuration :

AP WHR-HP-G54 Eko 13577M+
CL + AP (REP) EOC-2610 BS 13637

Hidden SSID
AP & REP are able to connect on MIXED mode

If I do change to B-Only or G-Only, they dont see one to each other and are unable to get connected.

I have tried all the configuration cases, B/B OUT - G/G OUT - B/Mixed OK - G/Mixed OK - Mixed/Mixed OK

B on WHR-HP-G54 - Mixed on EOC-2610 OK
G on WHR-HP-G54 - Mixed on EOC-2610 OK

B on EOC-2610 - Mixed on WHR-HP-G54 OUT
G on EOC-2610 - Mixed on WHR-HP-G54 OUT

If anyone could reproduce it, it would be nice, so we can do a ticket to BS and EKO.

Thanks. Michel.

Hi Sash, I had to disable SSID as we have some idiots guys around that are trying to get into any network using some hacking technics I dont want to describe here.

Since I changed the SSID and did hidden them, no more issues, unless those that I have described.

If you have any chance to reproduce it, it would be nice. Anyway, I will drop a line to BS and Eko.

Michel.

Hi Michel ! ;)

did you check wireless advanced setting after changing to G mode or b mode?

sometime and pending on device you have to do all change needs according to select mode handly.

example:

G mode require short preambule
B mode require long preambule

if one of your device is set to short and the other stay in long preambule, the link will not establish.

check also cts, afterburner, frame burst which is usefull to set off for an healthy link.

note, this is the first time i heard that disabling wifi broadcasting is not something secure...it's almost one of the first thing to do against unexpected connexion...then you could secure with radius if you want.

Dear Izy-Wifi, so many thanks for the real help you provided me. After applying your suggestion regarding long / short preamble my routers are nicely talking.

Cheers and greetings for your time and help.

PS: One shot, and you killed the issue, definitely you are The Hitman !

Anyway, there is still an issue regarding channels over 10, which is strange. It does "sometimes" connect to the 11, after the trick you gave me, but 12,13,14 are definitely not working. It seems that it connects on the AP, and 1-2 sec later, it is disconnected. It looks like if the country parameter was blocked up to channel 11.
