freedns.afraid.org DDNS in DD-WRT firmware seems not to work very well. I can´t update ip for my domain, only got error messages.
Code:
Tue Oct 31 09:11:59 2006: INADYN: Started 'INADYN Advanced version 0.1.4' - dynamic DNS updater.
Tue Oct 31 09:12:00 2006: I:INADYN: IP address for alias 'mydomain.com.ru' needs update to 'MYIP'
Tue Oct 31 09:12:00 2006: W:INADYN: Error validating DYNDNS svr answer. Check usr, pass, hostname!

in the hostname field, put in both the hostname and the hash value from freedns.afraid.org

e.g.
hostname: mydomainname.com,ABC12345OkUbq1

the hash value is available from the Dynamic DNS screen on freedns.afraid.org

Is this hash value located in the Wget Script batch file? Can't seem to get freedns.afraid.org or dyndns.com to work on either v23.or v24 Jan 18 code.

the hash value is everything that comes after the ? (question mark) in that script, don't forget to put in a comma.

inadyn uses the -a(lias) parameter, to pass on the hostname and the hash value to freedns.afraid.org. I am using the 9/1/7 version software

hope this helps

I entered mydomain.com,hash in the host name field. It still does not update the my ip to freedns. Do you have any more suggestion. Anyone got dyndns.com to work?

I have just went through the process of setting up a ddns server and I can not get the update process to complete.

I used dyndns.com

this is the error I get

FYI,

Got both dynsdns and freedns working after I change my password and not use # in the front. freedns is working w/ the mydomainname, hash.
