I have not found a tutorial or anything else to do what I need to do- the closest is a post in the Broadcom area.

First off, can the 1650 handle tagging? I'm on v24/sp2 10/10/09 std build 13064

I simply do not have the VLAN tab in the setup menu, which is what leads me to the question about support.

Anyway, my need is based on integrating into an existing network, ergo the vlan definitions:

SSID 1 public accessible, all traffic dumped to vlan 810

SSID 1 private, all traffic dumped to vlan 820

Manage the unit itself (GUI, SNMP) on vlan 150

I have a backend Wifi portal system already running, and it needs to see customer device mac's.

I've seen problems in other posts about vlan #'s > 15.

These are single ethernet port units, so I'm surprised when I run a nvram | grep vlan.ports that I still have 1-4 listed on vlan0 !!

Any insight is appreciated.

Upgrade to the latest firmware version.

Look into Other, Eko, BrainSlayer Pre-SP2, and then the latest firmware available, EOC-1650.

On my EOC-2610, I have a tab named Networking, with VLAN , TAG, etc.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look at the other distro's.

I'm on the latest version for this device, according to the availability listing (13064). I don't see any diff in the hardware between the 1650 and 2610, but it's possible that screen is somehow hardware dependent. I just don't have that menu, so I'm not sure if the stuff I do in the Networking tab with tags & bridges will take effect- I can't make it work so far...

Current distribution (beta) is 13832... so you cn imagine a lot of bugs have disappeared.

Have a look into the Wiki, a lot of info is availabe there.

Yes, the wiki has a massive amount of info, though there haven't been any posts spot on with using wrt as a pure bridge, with a management interface in the fashion I'm trying.

Been trying different combo, but there are conflicting pieces of info in various tutorials, then trying to make a Linksys doc apply to a single ethernet unit, and the bridges, physical, and logical interfaces mated with the right vlan tags. UG!
