Hi, I'v got a problem with 2 of my ecb-3500 flashed with dd-wrt pro build 13064. I cant seem to get my power level beyond 19dBm. I read in the forums about other senao devices having to change antennas to seconday etc. I'v tried to here. Since these units are capable of 600mW(28dBm) I'd like to utalize that power.
I have set the unit to B-Only 1Mbit for both min+max rates. I have also tried telnetting in and giving the units an : iwconfig ath0 txpower 28 a go but its not playing.
Can someone point me in the right direction ??
Perhaps can i flash back to original senao firmware ?
Cheers.
Thanks sash for the info, and I'v played more with the device settings. However I havent been able to rectify my power levels still. I replaced out these ecb-3500's for some wl-520gu's(with dd-wrt build 13064) temporaraly @ a lower tx rate over my 1 km link. I'v decided to ebay these ecb-3500 dd-wrt'ed. ! Think I should have brought some Ubiquiti Bullet2's instead. lol

Hi there , I have tried DD-WRT on both EAP-3660 and ECB-3500.
Both work great , very happy....Except TX Power is limited to approx 18db.
Looks like this has been a problem for quite a while for Atheros devices as far as I can tell from the forums.
Is there a fix for this that I have missed or not ?
Being as it's a Paid version of DD-WRT , is it getting any priority ? - I've brought 5 so far - all with limited range.
So I've heard.... AND read in a number of posts.
.
Yet I cannot find this word anywhere in the Wiki or documentation.
I can only find that you have mentioned this word a few times in posts , just like you have here , with no explanation of what it means , just the word , by itself.
I've also seen a few people asking and discussing it - without finding a clear message about it.
So - I had a GUESS , that it means the actual output power= TX power dB - Antenna gain dB
So I changed my ECB-3500 TX power=23dB and set Antenna gain =0 , restarted...... And the power stated in the status is STILL 18dB.
So , I'd appreciate a full explanation (please) - How can I get the power my device is capable of.
Or - please can you put a link where the documentation/wiki clears this issue as I cant find it.
Cheers.
I just installed 02-23-10-r13972 BrainSlayer's build onto my 3500, and wound up the power, but still looks limited to 19dBm even thou I'v set it to 27dBm tx pwer and 0dbm antenna gain box's. I'll have a bit more of a play with it later as I am about to head off for the night.
