There are also 2 revisions of the DIR-300

The DIR-300 Rev A is Atheros Based

The DIR-300 Rev B is RaLink Based

You have to see which one you have and flash the correct firmware for it.

Yes, i've B version. it seems to be not hard to flash. Smile

Hi,

Not hard to flash? But for revison B it's impossible for now to flash with DD-WRT.

That's why I posted here serial logs and photos of the board...to developers try to adapt a Ralink version for this type of flash / memory.

They are talking about D-Link Routers, not about RT-G32b1, my friend....

Hi, I have an Asus RT-G32, The firmware on the device is 3.0.1.15, I think its ralink based and the B1 rev since its power supply is 12V 1A - as mentioned at www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices. I do get the bootloader prompt

== Executing boot script in 1.920 seconds - enter ^C to abort

but hitting CTRL+C doesnt work, have tried a lot from different terminals - xterm, putty, cmd. So is this redboot? - do you guys get a prompt?

You would have known if you had bothered to read this thread. It is only 3 pages long so no excuse for not reading.

Hey, I have read the thread earlier - no one mentioned anything about seeing the bootloader message on the Rev B router hence my question.

???

This thread is only about rev B of the RT-G32, go read page 2 of it again.
Read it carefully. Don't skim.

I'm just trying to get DD-WRT on this router. I've tried some firmwares with automatic ramsize detection, found here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54802&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15
Uploaded with serial & tftp with success.

it boots up, but stops with kernel panic. I need a firmware for Ralink, 16MB RAM.

I've tried almost all the flash images found in the router database, for Ralink 3052 chip & 16MB RAM. All of them produce the same kernel error. I think this router has a different memory mapping than others.
I've spent more attention on that Sitecom router in the other topic. I've read that it has also 16MB RAM and a similar RaLink chip.

Because this router is very-very cheap (approx. 25-30 euros) I think it will be popular also for DD-WRT.

Hi,

I have the Asus RT-G32 (H/W B1) too i bought it thinking its H/W A is there any way to install DD-WRT on it ? i have tried installing via tftp via redboot and via the webgui nothing worked, as far as i have read here it is not possible yet. I am wondering will it be possible in the future ? or this device has no luck with wrt ?. Is there any way i can contribute to the effort of modding wrt to suit the asus by pics of the device screenshots of the webgui menus or any other way let me know.

Thanks

Another owner of the Asus RT-G32 rev.B1 here.

Is there any update? is something in the works? or is this router never going to be supported?

Can we help in any way? is there something you require?
