Hey all, I recently bought the WR1043ND from our service provider and they installed the DD-WRT v24-sp2 (build 14896). The only reason I bought it was so I could use the network sharing capabilities of it. Since it is pre-"upgraded" to this crap build it obviously doesn't come with a user guide that can help.
Any way I can go about sharing an external hard drive through this router?
Use google or try searching the forum, it has been posted several times.
Anyways, try the instructions on this site: http://g300nh.blogspot.com/ _________________ TP-Link WR-1043ND v1.6, running 15501

I actually have googled everything I could think of and searched the forums as well and couldn't seem to find anything. Maybe I was just using different lingo or the wrong keywords...but thanks.
I do have one question though...what exactly are the pros about upgrading to the firmware from this site?
Quick list of advantages:
-Way more features then standard firmwares
-More stable then some standard firmwares, especially under load
-Frequent updates
Disadvantages:
-Might brick your router
-You need to learn some Linux in order to maximize advantages from some features
-N-driver problems
