I just bought:

Router Model
Asus WL-500g Premium

CPU Model: Broadcom BCM4704 chip rev 9
CPU Clock: 264 MHz

from ebay and

installed
DD-WRT v23 SP2 (09/15/06) std - build 3932


and want to know what is the best dd-wrt firmware version to use.

I do not want to use wirless.

Well, if you don't want to use wireless I have to assume you bought this router for the USB and unattended download capabilities. If that's the case you want to avoid DD-WRT entirely and just use the factory firmware. As DD-WRT currently has no support for any of the extended features of any ASUS model. Most of the custom firmwares are very Wireless oriented. Oleg's firmware at http://oleg.wl500g.info has some nice features integrated into a fairly stock firmware. I haven't monitored it much so I don't know if they have a firmware specific to the new WL-500G Premiums.

Of course if you're pretty savy you can work on installing the packages to enable some of the features of your router. But be warned it's NOT that easy and requires at least a fair knowledge of Linux.
