Testing Super Channel Engenius Senao EOC 2610
Firmware version 1.0.37 on Engenius Senao EOC 2610 includes a special feature "Super Channel", which can be played on the 2.3 GHz frequency, but strangely firmware later versions of this special feature not included anymore, for some reason not explained by the official Engenius, even at the official website at Engenius firmware version 1.0.37 which includes features such super-channel is not available anymore, so users can not download it again.
Driven by curiosity, we want to do special testing super-channel facilities currently owned only by Mikrotik and DD-WRT Proprietary, we try to borrow a colleague's Tower in the vicinity of Delta Sari, Sidoarjo and the only tower in the area around the Juanda Airport, we deliberately choose this area which, according to several associates are the most "busy" with its WiFi network, formerly a partner link with standard 2.4 GHz frequency but failed to connect because of the weight levels of interference area, so we are challenged to test using the connection point to-point distance of approximately 2.7 km LOS, where the two points of each device using a Senao EOC 2610 and Antena Grid Finetic, do not forget we test with the feature enabled Super Channel, a result of the devices had "Connect" with satisfactory results, the signal strength or the reach-46dBm RSSI s / d-48dBm and the ping time even reached 1-2 ms, it is surprising not!
From the results we conclude the following test features Senao EOC Super Channel in 2610 was running well and stable, before we had doubts why Engenius remove this particular facility, there are allegations that there is a "bug" in this feature, but these allegations are not proven, so it could be because issues that require regulation Engenius removed, although it shows the results of the test results are excellent. |
