Hello,

I need to JTAG my WRT600N router.
I have found a wiki for how to JTAG the WRT600N but my hardware version v1.1 has no resistors installed at the JTAG islands called R264 & R265.

Can someone post the values of these resistors?

All information is welcome!!!

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the 600N has jtag? I think you might be mistaken. Please post a link to this wiki you are referring to.

Thanks.

Yes, i have been mistaken it is no JTAG but a Serial port look here:

http://wiki.zeropain.com/index.php/WRT600NV11_Serial_Port

I already tried via TFTP when he bootup and the transfer is a success but it still does not work.

Is there a posibility to connect JTAG to the WRT600N ?

The 600N does not have jtag. As you point out though, it does have a serial port. Hopefully you can get something flashed via the serial console.

Good luck.

Hi,

I have managed to put the firmware over TFTP and after that i have factory reset the router.
Than i have put the original Linksys firmware again since a BIG or MEGA build break my router again after factory reset.

Okay, now original firmware is in the router but i only can access the wrt600n via wireless and not via the Lan ports, all 4 ports have being tried but no go.

Any help is welcome Crying or Very sad

Hi!

I have de-bricked via serial on this router... check out this thread fo the details :)

also i have had to flash via tftp - you need a specific firmware for this, which is located in the router database. Check out this link to another thread which basically turns into a 'how many ways to flash a 600n' so read through... basically it's only so long because i wasn't using the correct firmware to tftp - it has a specific 'header'.

anyways.... not sure about the issue you are having at the moment with your LAN ports... only to say that after initial flashing with mini you must to a hard 30*30*30 reset before flashing with mega say, and do another 30*30*30 post flashing before configuring Smile

Hi,

Thanks for the info, yes i discover that i have to use the TFTP mini build from the recommended page.

But can you just erase nvram via the command: 'erase nvram' folowing by 'reboot' ?

I'm gona try that and tell you the results Wink

you can... but this does not work in all cases, and involves popping the router open and soldering bits on Wink

My router is acting strange!!!

It is real slow when i access router via Lan ports but via wireless no problem.

clear nvram dit nothing.

Why is there no damm JTAG available?

The serial port is also not working due to missing resistors.

Anny suggestion is welcome.

I'm confused as well...missing resisters could have blown that serial connection, would it not? Shocked

there are lots of routers that it looks like the resisters are missing. The pads are there but are not populated. When you check with an ohm meter, there is continuity. A wrt54g v8 is an example.
