DIR-300 Internet LED not working (build 14896)

I finally got build 14896 installed onto my dir-300.

Everything seems amazing, except that the internet led (the one between the power, and the wan) does not light up even when connected to the internet.

Details:
Connection Method: PPPoE
Installation Method: Fon Flash, 30-30-30 before and after the firmware upgrade.

Any pointers to diagnose, modify the led function?

its already at the latest (as it shows in the router db)

13064 - recommended
14896 (2010-08-09) - latest

both not helping with the led (the led is not defective, reflashed to openwrt, and checked).
