Using 30-30-30 re-flash process the following releases all result in LAN ports not working on AR670W:
(same problem on two different AR670's)

03-17-11-r16454 same problem
04-09-11-r16754 same problem
05-08-11-r16994 same problem
(I did not try 04-09-11-r16785)
06-14-11-r17201 same problem

02-17-11-r16214 works fine for my AR670W (no LAN port issues in this release).

I have posted this info into Ticket #2040 ("Senao ESR-9752: LAN switch not working with builds 16754 and 16785"). http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/2040

AR690W had similar issues as per this thread http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=72848&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 Seems Brain Slayed fixed this in a special release for AR690W, "i implemented now the switch driver using the SDA/SCK data provided. the driver works on other ralink devices now"

Anyone else having this issues with AR670W?
Should I open a new ticket just for AR670W?
Brain Slayer: Would the same fix for the 690 be easy for you to apply to 670?

It is enough that you have added AR670 to ticket #2040.

The AR690 problem is not related to this, AR690 has a different ethernet switch.

Thank you, LOM. Both your answers make good sense. Appreciate your quick reply.

Time-permitting I'm considering adding tty/com port to one of my 670's in order to capture and post linux system start messages, would this be helpful?

I see the number of models, and people, affected by this issue is increasing. Hope soon we'll reach the critical mass that triggers a corrective action. Keep the reports coming Smile

In the mean time we stay with the old build.

Are you completely sure that 16454 has the problem?
There is just one minor change of the source code for Ralink between 16214 and 16454, that change should not break the lan port functionality.

I'll make time this week to give another try on my AR670W with r16454 (just to be absolutely certain that it breaks the LAN ports).

I flashed my AR670W with r16454 and LAN ports seem to be working fine Embarassed I didn't do a 30-30-30 (kept existing settings), I'll try it again with a 30-30-30 next just to be sure that all is well with LAN ports.

In the mean time, anyone know if sshd is broken in r16454? (can't get it running, gives me this error authpriv.info dropbear[8692]: Premature exit: String too long)

Flashed these builds again (was lazy and kept settings)
03-17-11-r16454 LAN ports work but dropbear issues as above.
04-09-11-r16754 LAN ports definitely broken.

Happy with r16214 for now.

ok, I have not checked for changes to the router software - only changes to the kernel.

16454 is then ok on the LAN switch.

16754 and 16785 are too big in size

16994 is ok in size but there may be other problems with it.

The dropbear issues I mentioned above turns out to be a known issues, bug was tracked and closed in new release (sheesh i'm making some really lazy/newb mistakes in this thread).

LOM: I'm not sure what you mean by 'too big in size'.

Toady I logged AR670W console boot messages from serial port. I noted a couple differences between working r16214 and LAN not working r17201. I'm not sure if these excerpts helps, if complete boot up details will be more helpful I will post. I have BOLDED the differences I noted when booting r17201.
