Hello-
I recently flashed my wndr4000 with dd-wrt to see what I could do. I have netgear ssl vpn routers in 2 locations and wonder if I can do the same thing with dd-wrt. The advantage to ssl vpn is that there is no client that needs to reside on the remote client machine, you just run a script in the browser every time you log on to the vpn endpoint router, and you can do it from anywhere provided you can run the script. I looked at the vpn settings on my router and couldn't see anything that looked like an ssl option let alone setting it up.
Also, I wondered about setting up ddclient some way to use my ( gmail )email server to send me notifications of my frequent public ip updates, like the ssmtp linux package would do if I could get it on my router.
