Tenda W306R looks promising, the question is what Ralink chipset this router have. Most N based routers today have either internal or no detachable antennas. This unit has two high-gain omni-directional detachable antennas, exactly what I was looking for.
Someone in this forum posted that he installed DD-WRT on it, the question is which hardware version he have. Any information would be very helpful, chipset, RAM, Flash and if the radio unit is shielded.
I downloaded the firmware to hardware v3 and the link pointed to another routers firmware (W307R).

The price and capability of this Router produced me the tantation to purchase it, so I have contacted to support@tenda.cn an they answer me as follow.
W306R:
Chipset Ralink 3052,266MHz; Mem 32 ; Flash 4
Due to this answer, I have requested to them some detailed information about their different versions, because based on their web page, they have V2 and 3 already.
Also I have requested them the FCC ID number, but maybe this is not available, because I called to he local representative in Chile (www dot tenda dot cl), who watch the bottom of router and he can not find any FCC ID number.
If someone has it, please report, so it provide very useful information for developers.
A picture of inside of router will be a good contribution.
I hope that this router be able to support dd-wrt.

I have received from Tenda's support people the technical data sheet for 2 models as follow:
W306R (V2.2):
Main Chip model= RT3052
Frequency = 384 MHz
Memory = 16 MB
Flash = 4 MB
Switch model No = RT3052
RF Chip model No = RT3052
Inserted OS = Linux
W301R (V2.1)
Main Chip model= Ralink 2880
Frequency = 266 MHz
Memory = 16 MB
Flash = 4 MB
Switch model No = IP175C
RF Chip model No = Ralink RT2820
Inserted OS = No indicated
If developers need full information, please send me a PM, so I'll send both full files Excel type received from Tenda.
I hope it be useful, as well as that developers be able to work on it.
If some one already donated a router to developers, please comment here in order to have some feedback, if not, please try to donate a box.

16 and 32 MB in model W306R. Funny that they gave different answers. We need to find out the right number here.
I also sent an email to support regarding chipsets in different models.

Thanks a lot madaleno.
The question is, what about WDS?
It is because currently I'ḿ using a WRT54G Linksys V7.1 with DD-WRT as wireless AP linked to TP-LINK TL-WR642G, so the link between both is based on WEP, however I would like to use WAP, due to someone in my boundary around my home is using my Internet access. WHat I did? I hided the SSID, changed the MAC of Linksys router, changed the WEP key for a new one more long and complex, changed the MAC filter to a white list instead black list, however the criminal is using the ROUTER MAC to access to my system.
After this all changes, I have not detected him again, however I would like to aply WAP instead of WEP for WDS link between routers. Unfortunately TP-LINK just allow WEP.
Did you understand my problem now?
So I'ĺl purchase two new N routers to have a new WDS network more strong from security point of view.
Thanks in advance

I get last week Tenda W306R V2 and my hardware is:
MIPS RT3052 at 384 MHz
Flash 4 MB SDRAM 32 MB
I was able to install both test.bin firmware for Conceptronic C300BRS4A_V2 (RT3052F) from modaleno (same PCB layout) and
Aceex 22NR initial flash firmware.bin from DD-WRT archive.
Only problem is, that I must connect to router via home made TTL-RS232 convertor (Just MAX232, USB power cable and 4 tantal capacitors).
Tenda W306R require "linkn" instead of "Linux" string in header of uImage firmware image. Currently I do not found any easy way to just repack existing firmware with another header and/or modify #telnetd in rcS file inside original Tenda firmware.
Maybe someone could help. I was just able to extract initramfs LZMA compressed part from original Tenda firmware, but don't know how to put it back and recalculate CRC etc. Maybe someone have knowledge how to extract also vmlinux part from firmware. I will try to study scripts for building uImage from initramfs + kernel next week.
