Got the WNDR3800 a month or so ago and was running it on the stock firmware. It was working fine but then the wireless signals started dropping. I'm used to running linksys and buffalo routers on DD-WRT so I decided to look up which firmware to use on the WNDR3800 and it led me to the Brainslayer ones. It's probably easier to lay the rest out in bullet points so here it is:

Problems before flashing

2.4ghz channel wasn't working at all
5ghz channel worked, but it would take a while before obtaining the signal.

Problems after flashing, both with 18777 and 19519

2.4 ghz channel still doesn't work
5ghz channel kinda works but it slow and spotty. Connection will drop every now and then.
Neither channels offer 40mhz (turbo) as a valid channel width.

I've done so many resets the last 24 hours trying to get things to work it's annoying. If there's any more information that I can provide to help troubleshoot, let me know.

Also, if anyone knows of any routers that will just work out of the box, that'll be great too! I don't do much fancy stuff anymore... one wired device, a few wireless ones, as long as they support N and G bands and uPNP i'm happy Smile
