Worst case for you/ "standard procedure for the customer" Wink):
Setting as Router/ AP
- updated from r27396 to r27456 w/o 30/30/30 or resetting to factory settings
- restored settings from r27396
!!!it works w/o any problems!!!
Setting as RepeaterBridge
- updated from r27396 to r27456 w/o 30/30/30 or resetting to factory settings
- no access after FW update
- reboot/ power unplug/ repower up - access ok
- restored settings from r27396

So I've seen this error on your router for a very long time now. Can you please explain, give more details ? Let's try to get it fixed somehow.

On this question in buffalo whr-300hp2 has existed for a long time.after 06-23-2014-r24461,firmware upgrade to new version,PPPOE cannot connect to the ISP,later I found,the wan directly connect other routers by wires,the wan port also can not get the address.in WebUI,wan address display 0.0.0.0.
by AP wireless bridge repeat,the wan port can get the other router`s address .

OK, please connect the router's WAN port to another router's LAN port and leave the default in Setup -> WAN Connection type = Automatic Configuration (DHCP).
Make sure to have a different DHCP server running than the Host router (e.g. if host router's DHCP is 192.168.1.1, then your router connected to it should have 192.168.2.1 etc).

Please provide snapshots of the Setup page and Status page.
