WNDR3700 V4
DD-WRT v3.0-r30880 (11/14/16)
Linux 3.18.42 #2681 Mon Nov 14 07:24:26 CET 2016 mips

very bad on this router

can't run both radio on HT40 with WPA2
5GHz won't broadcast ...umm actually it won't even run at all.
Only work on HT40 if both are on auto.
Change a channel on the 5 GHz and it kills it -- ath1_hostapd.pid never starts back.
You can select a 5 GHz ch w/HT40 then put 2.4 on any ch Full 20
and ath1_hostapd.pid will run like a scalded monkey but......

It's really messed up same as previous posted here -
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1053185#1053185

BTW - I've tested this on two WNDR3700v4

Router: TP-Link TL-WR841N v8
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r30880 std (11/14/16)
Kernel: Linux 3.18.42 #2655 Mon Nov 14 06:49:02 CET 2016 mips
Status: Ok
Reset: Yes
Errors: Not specific to this firmware version (present on r25697), but following minor issues persist:

1) LAN port clients cannot communicate between each other. Solved by Startup Command:

Code:
swconfig dev switch0 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev switch0 set apply

2) Some wireless clients cannot connect to AP when in N-Only mode. Solved by setting to NG-Mixed mode.

3) Physical wifi on/off switch does nothing. Not motivated enough to find solution..

Usage: wireless access point with WAN and DHCP turned off.

Router: DIR-615 i1
Status: Good
Reset: Reset to defaults with flash procedure; erased NVRAM after flash
Errors: None

Router: TL-WDR3600
Status: Good
Reset: Reset to defaults with flash procedure; erased NVRAM after flash
Errors: See below. First build since 30731 that fixed the ath9k radio drops especially on power save devices. Good performance on both the 2.4 & 5 GHz bands. So far, this is the best build yet for this router.

The LAN-side ethernet ports stop working as a switch due to a long-standing bug: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/3736

I ran the code below to get it working as I have done on other builds:

Code:
swconfig dev switch0 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev switch0 set apply

Router: TP-Link Archer C7
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r30880 (11/14/16)
Kernel: Linux 3.18.42 #2667 Mon Nov 14 06:58:48 CET 2016 mips
Status: BAD
Reset: Yes, erase nvram
Errors: Boot times over 90 seconds. Web interface takes another 15 seconds before it's up. http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5601

Also TX/RX rate still shows 975 Mb/s instead of 1300 Mb/s.

Channel 149 (upper) is selected for the 5GHz band in settings.
But my devices connect to channel 153 + 155. Status page says 153 + 155 as well.

Reverting back to r30082.

Can you try resetting to defaults when you flash if you haven't already? When you write "Reset: yes, nvram", I don't know if that means "yes+nvram" or that you only cleared the nvram. Above the Browse button you will see: "After flashing, reset to" then select "Reset to Default Settings" in the dropdown.

After flashing succesfully and the unit reboots, go to Administration → Commands and run:

Code:
erase nvram
reboot

After the unit reboots, do not restore any previous configuration. Input them manually again. Try this and see if you still have problems.

Router: DIR-825 / HW REV.B
Firmware: r30880 std (11/14/16)
Kernel: Linux 3.10.104 #3940
Status: Online
Reset: No
Errors: Presented some issues over WiFi @ 5Ghz

* Sometimes after clicking "Apply Settings" the Web GUI finishes "malformed". Can be corrected by refreshing it (F5)
* Rebooting takes less time (was using before r29837)
* WiFi strength @ 5Ghz is weaker than previous version used (v3.0-r29837)

PD: Will keep testing new FW, then later update this post if new errors shows Exclamation

Sorry for not being clear.
What I did:
Login via telnet, type "erase nvram" and press enter.
After that I type "reboot" and press enter.

That's what I always do when flashing new firmware.

Has anyone done any performance testing compared to previous builds? I wanted to try iperf, but it's not available and I doubt my router has space to install more stuff. Any suggestions on how to test?

I noticed the TX/RX link rates fluctuate more on r30880 compared to r25697. For example my laptop used to see pretty stable RX rates of 130-144M but now is often around 54-86M with spikes to the previous max. Other clients are not as dramatically affected but still vary more than before. Signal, SNR are unchanged.

I also noticed the signal quality % seems to be differently scaled, with higher % values for the same Signal/Noise/SNR levels compared to r25697, but this appears to be more of a visual than actual change.

After the unit reboots, do not restore any previous configuration. Input them manually again. Try this and see if you still have problems. Erasing the nvram and not doing the other step can lead to the problems you described. You can also try a 30/30/30 reset before and after the flash if the above doesn't yield better results than what you started out with.
