the signal here is already very good with -30 dbm. it might be a better idea to measure this with a higher distance. i dont think that a client adapter will show you usefull results with that high signal level, since the adapter is no real exact measurement unit. its just a wifi device, but no spectrum analyser

I got another EOC-8610S EXT this have no dd-wrt firmware with 600mW i can connect even through router which has no line of sight with WDS with 20% of quality. I also try the same antenna settings and i couldn't achieved this can you clarify it?

Thank You.

Hi,

On my both EOC´s it´s the same. I change the power from standard to 56dBm and on status page displayed 25 dBm!!
Country is set to Austria.

Now its not bad but for the wds connection to bridge 2 km i think i need the full signal power!
What can i change the the speed goes up. My Linksys is much faster then the EOC´s

I got another 3 units of EOC-2610 just arrived today these units are haven't being flash to dd-wrt yet i decided to post the screenshots of them with the same settings and location and will measure it. From the early findings i can max out the transmit power up to 28dbm using the existing firmware. But it lack out WDS function.

I really hope brainslayer and sash fix this problem and considered it as a bug. We support dd-wrt but we need the AP working as powerful as it's mention . I'm sad now

okay. lets discuss the specs.

Frequency Power
2.412~2.462 GHz
IEEE 802.11g
26dBm@6~24Mbps
25dBm@36Mbps
23dBm@48Mbps
22dBm@54Mbps
2.412~2.462 GHz
IEEE 802.11b
27dBm@1~11Mbps

any question else? remember the wireless rate is responsible for the max power too

BS Saleh wrote that he's using b-only which should give him 27dbm over the whole range

it uses it automatic if its getting available. so if the maximum power is configured to 30 dbm and the antenna gain is 0, it will use always the maximum power available which is returned by the chipset. and dont look just what the original firmware says in its webgui. in fact it matters what really comes out of the rf phy.

i can just assume that senao gave me wrong poweroffset values. so its likelly to be 10 dbm instead of 7. so just the webgui shown power value would be wrong, but not the effective power
