There is no option in AirOS firmware to make in DHCP server - static IP reservation according to MAC address on LAN interface (router mode). Without static IP reservation is problem to make port forwarding to specific address and etc.

Is this option resolved in DD-WRT firmware?

For me it was not a problem as long as I use(ed?) AirOS (1wdsAP router/gw + 1 single wdsSTA bridge) : I just set the amount of DHCP clients to 1 and the pool start address to ... the address I want for my wdsSTA.



With ddwrt wds the wrong constellation (Dark Star) is just that the PowerStation running as wdsSTA can't get a WAN IP at all. Maybe this is related to changes the devs introduced in wds to workaround the "well-known-multi-wdsSTA-problem", but I'm not fluent enough neither in wds nor bridging in general to be sure.

I just wanted to experiment bridging on a new network I'm currently building to limit the number of routing hops. Unfortunatly, I chose PS5 (because I wanted for the 1st time to use 5GHz at start point) and I ran into this problem I could not guess as I only use some NS2 in classic client mode (WAN enabled)
