Hi all,
Today I Installed DDWRT for the first time ever . I had a BulletHP operating in router mode running AIROS with the scenario:
On wlan interface a DHCP server with the ip adress range 192.168.15.2 to 192.168.15.20 with GW 192.168.15.1
On Lan interface Ip adress 10.130.1.224 with gateway 10.130.1.254 connected to Core router.
I installed DDwrt on that bullet but I cant manage to configure it with the same configuration as it was with AIROS.
Why there is not an simple way to enable DHCP server only on Wlan Interface but allways when I enable it goes on Lan Interface.
I want Lan interface to have static IP and Wireless interface to give out Dynamic IP-s.
Thank you for the reply but there is still something I dont get it.
I did what you said but should I enable DHCP Server on Setup, Basic.
My Router Ip address is 10.130.1.224 and when I enable DHCP Server I cant change the IP range start becouse it starts with 10.130.x.x and I want that to be a different IP like 192.168.15.1

Not to offend anyone but I have to start by stating the basics, and let me say upfront that I am not familiar with your hardware, but I am fairly familiar with the the DD-WRT firmware.
OK on most of these boxes you have three networks that are bridged or routed between. 1) the WAN interface, this is where you connect to your ISP, 2) The LAN interface(s) often 4 of these, and 3) the WLAN interface, wireless local area network.
In most setups the WLAN and LAN are considered internal networks for the purposes of FIREWALL rules and such. As apposed to the WAN interface which is considered external. So to get a working setup you need to connect the WAN to your ISP, this is often done with the router acting as a DHCP client to your ISP network. If you have been given a static IP then you are going to have to set the router's IP, Netmask, ISP's Gateway's IP, and ISP's DNS server's IP. BTW all of these IP's are the ISP's and often public IP's.
Now you get to setup your internal network. First off almost everyone choses a private address space, and DD-WRT defaults to 192.168.1.1/24 or 192.168.1.1 with a netmask of 255.255.255.0 for the IP of the router LAN interface. For internal DHCP to be operational the router has to have a fixed IP to serve DCHP IP's from.
The WLAN is typically bridged to the LAN interface so that the router can serve IP's to both the LAN and the WLAN DHCP Clients.
Now all of the above is based on defaults and can easily be changed in DD-WRT but that is the way most networks are setup.
So for most DD-WRT installations there is no separate WLAN DHCP server. Now I don't know enough to know if DD-WRT can even be configured to do that or not.
Hope this helps.

since he's using the prof version things are different (better) there. u have to change to acticate a dhcp server for each unbridged port. which is not possible with the free broadcom version. _________________ Forum Guidelines...How to get help

Thank you for the posts but I'm really not able to configure it. I would appriciate if anyone could logon to me device via my Public IP and configure it so I will see that as a example and continue buying more licenses.
