for what it's worth, here's my 2 cents on my initial eval of the EOC-2610:

first, thanks malcolmchng for posting the DD-WRT flashing instructions.
second, even though the EOC2610 has 200mw more power then the ubntNS2 and 4MB more flash, it seems that not having "AP repeater" mode available could b a show-stopper for some integrators...in some cases, i would lean more towards the ubntNS2 if i needed AP repeater mode since the EOC2610 doesn't offer it...here in the USA, the ubntNS2 is around $20USD more then the EOC2610...also, it seems that DD-WRT UI is painfully slow on the EOC2610 than the ubntNS2...i don't necessarily think this is a problem w/DD-WRT, but it's slower than on other hardware i've installed DD-WRT on...i'll continue to post my findings as i discover them...cheers...;-}

aeh ddwrt offers the same featureset for the eoc and the ns/ps. but since the eoc has 8mb flash it has even the features of the "full" firmware like x86/avila.

so why would the ns/ps have any feature the eoc doesnt support?

I have a eoc-2610 with v24-sp2 loaded and I do not notice any slowness.

Also "WDS ap" and "WDS station" are supported and working.

keenanj,

again, i'm merely posting my findings...i'm not saying there's anything wrong w/the EOC2610...in fact, i'm glad Senao/Engenious is working w/BS & Sash on this product unlike ubnt...you are correct "WDS AP/Station" IS WORKING, but AP REPEATER DOESN'T...maybe by using capital letters i can make myself more clear....also, i'm not saying the EOC2610 is slow in PERFORMANCE, i did say it seems that the DD-WRT web-interface/gui/UI seems to be much slower than other hardware that i have DD-WRT installed on...it just so happens that in the past few months, i've had the opportunity to test DD-WRT on many "NEWLY RELEASED" routerboards and off-the-shelf APs (like EOC2610) & I can tell a noticable difference in how much slower the web-interface "feels" in the DD-WRT/EOC2610 configuration...i understand that Senao/Engenius & DD-WRT developers are working hard, but these forums merely allow a "truthful" conversation of what NORMAL people in the field experience...NORMAL people are customers who purchase these products and use them in different ways...again, the EOC2610 seems to be a great product...thanks for your input...cheers...;-}

Hi,

to build a reapeater, you have to create a client (or wds-station) and then add another VAP with a new AP.

The new VAP does not have to have the same ssid or encryption settings, but it CAN have the same values.

The new VAP is only available, if the client interface is logged into the other (to be repeated) ap.

If you are used to Broadcom based firmwares, that's a difference.
