Changing the tx power from default 27dBm (or mW as the help file states) to 70 or 200 does not seem to make any difference. Wireless-basic page retains new value even after power off and reboot. The status-wireless page still shows tx power as 27dBm and not the new value. The actual signal strength is much lower with dd-wrt than the original EOC firmware. Has any one else come across this?

Perhaps you may have miss read my forum post or perhaps I did not make my point clear.
First of all I fully understand dBm, SNR etc... Thank you for your link anyway.
The issue is that the Status-Wireless page does not show the changed Tx power setting (it shows the defualt Tx power level of 27dBm) and the signal strength is much lower than the default firmware that the EOC1650 ships with. My tests are based on the built in WiFi card on my laptop and using Network Stumbler at distances of 2/20/50/100/500/1000 metres and 2nd tests using a NanoStaion2 connected to my laptop trying to connect to the EOC1650. The signal strength of the EOC1650 is much lower running dd-wrt.
If you have any further advice based on the additional information then please advice.
Kind Regards
Barry

I'm also facing this problem with EOC-2610 i got 5 of EOC-2610 and 2 of them already flash with dd-wrt and i came across the transmitting power problem. It's always shows 25dbm even though i have set it at 27dbm.

I have tested with another 3 APs with the original firmware from Senao it produce the different results as i choose the transmit power to 27dbm and i set the range to 30km in range.

However the signal strength of the EOC-2610 is much lower running using dd-wrt. I hope that brainslayer are aware about this problem.

Please explain - "this is fixed" I have v24 sp2 installed on an eoc1650 and this is not fixed. When I downloaded the firmware it stated v24sp1 yet the EOC states v24 sp2.

I don't know which specific variation of the release build of DD-WRT is being used on your EOC devices? What Sash is probably referring to is here:

I´ve just reflashed with
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/03/09) std - build 11712 found here http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/030309/senao-eoc1650

The problem still exists.

You might need a reset.
Working for your 2610? Working fine with mine.
I did not try the 1650 yet.
Might only be a 1650 Problem.
Can you tell?

See the Datasheet, please! Never 27dbm @54mbit.
You'll get 27dbm with 802.11b but not 802.11g.
TX-Power is always set depending on your Rate!

See the Datasheet i posted up there:
26dBm@6~24Mbps

Set the TX-Power to 30 and Gain to 0.
DD-WRT will do the Rest.
Won't get more than dd-wrt gets out of the Chipset.
Otherwise, use a bigger Antenna.
The MARS 23dbi Panal-Antennas are nice and pretty cheap.

These are nice:

I explain better my problem is that today will change the firmware to DD-WRT, but there is a huge difference between the previous power with which I have now. and to try to increase the TX Power is unchanged 25dbm.

I use this device as Principal PA and therefore is not to do.

Sorry for this is that you write as fast as I could, so do not you leave: D

And I use a omnidirectional of 15dbi

Thank you very much !!!!!!!!
