Hello. I am new to ddwrt. I gone through the features and it was excellent.
I am thinking to have a cable run only to the internet connected access point and the rest will be connected wirelessly to this main access point.

But I wanted to know that if I form a full wireless mesh with eoc2610 how is it possible?
And will the clients also be able to attach with these access points?
I also want to configure roaming between the access points. Is it possible?

Thanks.

Thank you for te reply.

The plan is We have about 200x400 meter area that needs to have wifi connectivity. Users inside the area need to be able to connect wirelessly to internet and the should be able to roam inside the area without losing connectivity. There is both free space and buildings and users need to get connected from both inside or outside the buildings. And we will have the internet cable to run only to the one acces point and rest should be connected wirelessly.

there are some buildings which might need more access points if we use indoor units. So our idea is to cover the buildings from 4 sides so we get coverage both inside and outside the buildings. But at present its not decided how many units will be used.

the setup wont be that easy...
adhoc + olsrd on the prim interface and a vap-ap on each device for client connects.

u will have to buy 3 units and test the setup and coverage in general

Can you tell why adhoc would be required.

And also can this be done with standard edition of dd-wrt or I need to have special edition.

Thank you.

u always have to buy a license per device for professional equiment.

why adhoc? cause u will have to use omi antennas to set up so much devices for compete coverage. on some units u could use the internal antenna.
