Hi all,

I just bought a Senao ECB-3500. Ordered the activation from the shop on dd-wrt and all is working with the new firmware.

I ordered this specific model because its good for range and it can hold dd-wrt so i could also run a hotspot tool on it.

Now comes my thing, whatever i do i cannot get any initial landing page when people connect to it. I've tried most hotspot options in it nocat, wifidog, etc but all do mostly nothing.

I only use this as a wireless acesspoint so i dont have any dsl/cable or something hooked on to it, just my existing ethernet infrastructure.

I've read on several wiki's that basicly because i dont use my lan/wan with a dsl i cant use some hotspots. This is also the case with for instance NoCat on the wiki, which implies that if i dont run a dhcp server on it, it will not work. Since i have my own dhcp server already i dont have the need for yet another dhcp server. I did try to turn the dhcp server on for a test with nocat but the same still happens, no landing page.

Am i out of luck with my setup?

Regards,
Eric

Never got around to fixing it, but i had a new router (draytek) installed and the sensao is still working nice as wifi AP.

Tried the hotspots thing once again, but to no luck.

* Chilispot - http://worldspot.net/wk/Main/en/SetupDDWRT
Connect the internet (WAN) port to your modem or existing router. (VERY IMPORTANT as the hotspot doesn't work if internet comes from LAN port)
so thats a no go..

* NoCatSplash - http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/NoCatSplash
In order for NoCatSplash to display the splash page, the DD-WRT enabled device must have both of the following:
- An active internet connection
- A WAN address
so thats a no go..

* Sputnik - http://sputnik.net
Agent enabled, sputnik mode is standard.
Server ID -> Use sputnik express
Result: blank page when connected to wifi, no connect

* Wifidog - http://dev.wifidog.org/
Turned it on, gateway id as mac address too
Result: blank page when connected to wifi, no connect

From what i can gather is that it needs to have the internet already on the senao present for all these types of hotspots to work. (and not in my case utp connected to my draytek router which has the internet)

I actually tried every single configuration on the hotspot page to see if it made a difference but none of them seem to work in this setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

p.s. i actually have the senao doing the dhcp (because thats what i could not test last time)

p.p.s. just tried hotspotsystem.com too, running those commands from there website, its now dead. Calling it a night ;p
